Oversharing Much? 7 Things You Should NEVER Post

This blog post shouldn't even exist. Unfortunately, it seems we now live in a society where everything is permissible. So, permit me to air my unpopular opinion on some things (out of the thousands of things) that I believe should never be okay to share on these internet streets.

 Live Labor/ Medical Procedure

Miss ma'am, why? You are literally in pain, panting and moaning in that hospital gown. Then you decide to show the world how baby Johnny enters the world, blood and gunk included. Baby Johnny isn't even one minute old and he is already clickbait for one million people. Maybe I am old school but I believe some things should still be kept private, and labor should be one of them. The same goes for any medical procedure. I am not interested in seeing your tonsils removed or your liposuction procedure. The worst part is when we get no warning before it's all splashed on our screens. Whoo chile...

Your Address/ Anything That Gives People Access To Your Home

Now, this is one that should just be plain old common sense. However, some people are still putting themselves and their families at risk by showing us such private information. My heart beats just a little faster when I watch "Day in the Life" vlogs on YouTube where the vlogger is practically showing us the route to her house with no filter. I mean, I could literally hop on a plane to your city, take a cab, and land at your front door. Scarily enough, anyone can.

New boyfriend/girlfriend - engagement ring = No post

Honestly, I empathize with this set of people because I get it. Romance is exciting. To love and to be loved, oh what a feeling! The thing is, there are no guarantees. I know my formula above highlights being engaged, but even that is not a guarantee for forever. What it is, is a better guarantee than no ring. You are causing medical-grade whiplash and major confusion amongst the masses, deleting pics of the now-ex-boyfriend off your feed after 3 months. Please be so kind to us and to yourself, and save yourself the hassle. Special shoutout to my "promise ring" people in the back - how are y'all doing? You are not being addressed here so please proceed at your own risk.

Funeral Processions/ Solemn or Tragic Moments

Let's get serious. Posting a tragic moment is just plain WRONG. It is as wrong as wrong gets. It's hard for me to understand what the purpose behind it is. Sadly, we live in a generation that laughs and records others' pain rather than help them. We laugh at "fails" where people perform life-threatening stunts to get a laugh, we laugh and make a meme about people falling down a flight of stairs or almost being eaten by a shark. Apparently, there is now a thin line between humor and sadism.

Grinding and Nude Pics

This one may get me cancelled by some folks but I am going to say what I am going to say: Ain't nobody wanna see that! Have we lost all class and decency as a people? It makes me cringe when these kinds of posts come across my timeline. We are unintentionally feeding into the commodifying of the human body the more we accept or contribute to the above. Everyone has an opinion on women's rights these days so some may say this is "liberating" for women. All I have to say is I like my "liberated" a little bit more covered up, thanks.

People Who Don't Want To Be Posted

Helloooo...she said no! Why are you still shoving your phone/camera in her face? What manner of disrespect. I get mad on behalf of the wronged party when I see this happen. It's honestly understandable why celebrities get into these nasty fights with the paparazzi. It is a real invasion of privacy to get in someone's face like that. I, for one, don't mind a good picture or video. Just let me see what you are going to post before it goes up😇.

Will Delete Soon

umm..then why are you posting it? Is this some sort of clickbait or a way to get some sort of special attention? If you want to delete, then delete. I am always baffled by the public service announcement.

Final Thoughts

What do you think should never be shared online or on social media? Do share in the comments section!

  4. Hilarious 😂 especially the relationship posts and will delete later posts! I also do not understand why people think people want to watch them eating. Has life become meaningless that one would waste minutes of their life that they will never get back watching someone feast?!!
